Katavi National Park:
Located in western Tanzania, Katavi is Tanzania’s third largest park. Katavi is an unspoilt and impressive location for great wildlife viewing. Visitors are amazed to find large herds of buffalo -up to 3000 in a herd the area. More spectacular are the the high concentrations of hippopotamus and crocodiles, the highest recorded in East Africa! The rare roan and sable antelope species can also be found in the park, together with predators such as lion and leopards.

Needless to say, Katavi’s dramatic scenery is spectacular – floodplains of thick reeds, woodlands with forest canopies, seasonal lakes and waterways are home to hundreds of species of birds and other wildlife.
The best time to visit this park is in the dry season from August–November as wildlife congregate around the banks of the Katuma River, their main source of water.
